How the AI voice interview works
Think of it as AI phone screening without the scheduling: the candidate takes it in their own time, and no recruiter needs to be on the line.
- Select candidates in the Advanced ATS and choose AI voice interview
- Each candidate gets a link by email or WhatsApp, valid for 7 days
- They give consent and start when it suits them
- The AI interviewer asks each question aloud; the candidate answers by voice
- Every answer is recorded and transcribed, and the next question or follow-up depends on it
- The plan is 6–8 questions, at most 12, with the joining questions last
What you see in the report
Each report sits on the candidate card in the Advanced ATS and covers:
- An overall score out of 100, a band and a score for each skill
- A short summary of strengths and gaps
- Job readiness, scored out of 100, with a note
- Joining readiness: notice period, location, expected salary and earliest start date
- A recommendation (proceed, hold or no), the full transcript and each recording
Where it fits in the AI Hiring Suite
The AI Voice Interview usually follows the AI Skills Assessment or AI Tech Assessment and comes before the AI Final Video Interview. For high-volume roles it works well as the first conversation, straight after a skills test.
When the recommendation is proceed, the candidate moves to To be scheduled; hold and no stay at Screened for your team to review. After an offer, the same AI voice interviewer makes the post-offer calls of AI Joining Follow-Up, now in early access.
Credits and cost
AI Voice Interview is ₹799 per user a month, or ₹7,670 a year with annual billing (20% off), and it is part of the AI Hiring Suite. Each interview uses 10 credits, charged when the link is sent: about ₹17–20 before GST on the credit packs. A link the candidate never opened can be cancelled and the credits refunded.
The 15-day free trial comes with 90 credits, so you can run AI voice interviews (10 credits each) on your own candidates before the first charge.
Fairness, consent and human control
Candidates are told how the interview works and agree before it starts. Everyone on the role is asked questions drawn from the same JD, and every score sits next to the transcript and recording, so a reviewer can check what was actually said.
The AI interviewer never rejects anyone; its recommendation is advice, and your recruiters and hiring managers decide. Every candidate on the role takes the interview in English, so answers are compared on the same terms.
When to use an AI interviewer for voice screening
It suits roles where how someone speaks and explains matters, and where you screen many people:
- Customer support and BPO: spoken English, empathy and shift flexibility
- Field and inside sales: the pitch, objection handling and targets
- Operations and logistics: process questions and joining readiness
- Software developers: explaining past projects and checking CV claims
- Accountants: walking through a reconciliation or GST filing they have done
